DCC MEP Ltd delivers energy efficiency upgrade at a locker manufacturing warehouse facility.

DCC MEP Ltd is proud to be delivering a major energy performance upgrade at a locker manufacturing warehouse facility, as part of a wider MEES consultancy project aimed at achieving a B49 EPC rating.

To meet this target, the existing gas-based heating systems were fully decommissioned. This included the strip-out of the central heating boiler and radiators in the office and toilet areas, along with the removal of gas radiant heaters throughout the warehouse. No record information was available so we carried out a measured survey to produce accurate drawings prior to design.

The project scope includes a full mechanical and electrical upgrade focused on improving energy efficiency and modernising services. While all existing LED lighting has been retained, DCC MEP has designed new LED lighting in areas previously lit with inefficient fluorescent fittings.

To replace the outdated heating systems, we’ve introduced mechanical air conditioning to office areas, electric radiant panels at warehouse workstations, wall-mounted heater panels in circulation zones and toilets, and instantaneous electric water heaters for all domestic hot water points.

This targeted and strategic upgrade ensures compliance with MEES regulations while providing a more sustainable, efficient, and comfortable environment for occupants. The result is a modernised, future-proofed warehouse facility designed with performance and energy-conscious design at its core.
